Podgorica Fish
Fish restaurants in Podgorica
Fish restaurants in Podgorica work two main supply lines: fresh Adriatic catch trucked up overnight from Bar and Ulcinj, and Skadar Lake species, carp, bleak and eel, coming in from Virpazar and the surrounding villages. The Adriatic side leans on sea bass, gilt-head bream, octopus, squid and rope-grown mussels in white-wine buzara; the lake side runs to grilled or stewed carp, smoked bleak and the traditional fish soup riblja corba.
The centre and the Bulevar carry most of the dedicated fish rooms, with prices at twelve to twenty-two euros for a main and twenty-five to forty for the larger Adriatic platters. The Stara Varos konobas often run a Skadar carp or stew alongside the meat menu in season. Booking is advisable for evening tables on Friday and Saturday and across the September academic-year start. The full offer runs year-round; lake fish quietens between November and March.
