Podgorica Shopping

Shopping in Podgorica divides between the centre's mall cluster and the older quarter workshops. Four large shopping centres sit around the city, the largest on the southern edge with international fashion, a multiplex cinema and a food court, and three more along the Bulevar and in Zabjelo with overlapping brand mixes and seasonal promotions. Slobode Avenue and Hercegovacka run the city's older boutique strip, with independent fashion, jewellery, perfumeries and bookshops anchoring the centre's pedestrian zone, plus the longer-running department stores along the same blocks.

Stara Varos carries the craft end of the offer, small workshops and family-run shops in the Ottoman lanes around the Sahat Kula sell Montenegrin-language books, traditional textiles, leather, silver and jewellery, and locally-made olive oil from the southern coast. The weekend markets at Tuski Put and inside the residential blocks of Konik handle the city's produce and household supply, with Vranac wine, fresh fish from Skadar Lake, lamb from the Komovi mountain pastures and Njeguski prsut cured ham from the ridge above Cetinje. Most shops keep working hours through the academic year and quieten in late July and early August.
