Fast food in Podgorica is anchored by burek and the family-run grills. Bakery counters across the city centre and the residential blocks open from six in the morning, selling burek with cheese, meat, spinach and potato fillings at one to two euros a piece. The cevapi and pljeskavica grills cluster around Trg Republike, the bus station and the southern blocks; a portion of cevapi with bread, onion and kajmak runs four to seven euros and feeds one comfortably.

Burger rooms have grown across the past decade with both international chains in the malls and independent rooms in the centre, typically five to nine euros for a full meal. Quick-counter eateries around the central bus station and the railway station serve travellers; most run from five-thirty in the morning through midnight. Card is widely accepted but the smaller bakeries still prefer cash.
