Podgorica Parks
Parks and green spaces in Podgorica
Parks in Podgorica fill in around the centre and the western edge. King Nikola's Park between Slobode Avenue and the river is the central civic green space, bordered by the Independence Monument, the Hotel Crna Gora and the embassy quarter to the west. Park Petrovic at Krusevac, the largest park in the city, is set around the Petrovic royal residence with wide lawns, the small Saint Demetrius church and a quiet cafe.
Gorica Hill rises on the western edge with looped trails through pine and oak woodland, picnic clearings, viewpoints back over the city centre and the small fifteenth-century Saint George's Church near the upper viewpoint. The Morača and Ribnica riverside walks run from the centre south toward the Plantaze vineyard belt and north toward the Tuski Put corridor. All parks are free, open year-round and busiest on weekend mornings and through the long summer evenings between five and nine.
