The grounds were designed with a botanical garden and a music pavilion alongside the royal building, with the palace itself now housing the Centre for Contemporary Art of Montenegro.

The park stretches from the Ribnica embankment up to the residential strip on the western edge of the city centre, working as both a heritage anchor and a daily recreation ground for the surrounding districts.
