The flow depends on snowmelt from the Albanian Prokletije mountains across the border, peaks through March and April after the spring thaw, and weakens considerably through July and August when much of the riverbed runs shallow.

The site sits along the road south toward Tuzi and is included in the standard set of Podgorica day-trip stops, often combined with Ostrog Monastery and Skadar Lake. The pools upstream of the falls are accessible by short paths from the parking strip on the southern bank.
